A friend of mine has been bugging me to start a blog, so here it is (finally!) I do a bit of quilting, and some card-making, so that's mostly what you'll see here.
You're very lucky, because today, I'm actually going to be posting 2 quilts I just finished. A quilting friend heard about the need for quilts for girls in an African orphanage, and decided to take on the challenge of providing a quilt for each of the 33 girls! Seeing as I have lots of bits and pieces of fabric, I decided to give her a hand, and make a few for her - so here they are:

The first one is called a disappearing nine-patch, and the second one is a variation of Easy Street. Both were made from scraps, and I've found that I really enjoyed the process!

  1. Congrats on your first blog entry...and what an entry it is!! Beautiful quilts and colours, Jannette! The girls in the orphanage will be so thrilled to receive something so beautiful made just for them with so much love! Thanks for sharing...have a great day! Joyce
